The information is intended to give carers an awareness of their rights and the type and range of supports that exist not only within Blaenau Gwent but also from national organisations that exist specifically for the purpose of providing more specialist advice. Role and Purpose of the Carers Meeting Group (Forum)
Chairperson: Louise Tovey; Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations.
The chair to:
- Take responsibility for organising the agenda for the meeting they are chairing and circulating this, together with the time and specific location for the meeting and the minutes of the previous meeting.
- The responsibility for minute taking will be delegated by the chair at the start of each meeting and again the responsibility will be rotated amongst the membership (with the exception of carers unless they specifically ask to be party to this arrangement).
Purpose of the work group
This work group is established with the specific purpose of:
- Working collaboratively to identify and understand the needs of carers and agree the specific actions needed to improve/enhance service provision.
- Carers will be seen as equal partners in working alongside practitioners and decision makers.
